Salman Khan and crew finally released the trailer for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan after it was leaked during the opening shows of Pathaan. You can expect all the slow-mo action sequences you’d expect from a Sallu Bhai movie in the masala film directed by Farhad Samji.

The new snippet from the April release features Pooja Hegde between high-octane chase scenes and Salman in a long-haired avatar.

In the teaser, Salman rides his motorbike through the desert, while montages show him fighting off several men–one of whom is thrown into two moving metros. During the clip, Pooja Hegde emerges through wind-swept curtains dressed in a pastel green lehenga, asking the obvious question, “Waise, aapka naam kya hai?”

Salman bhai displays a superhuman ability as he leaps from the roof of a two-storey building and lands perfectly on his feet. The teaser provides a glimpse of what we can expect from the movie - colorful song and dance, romance, tod-phod and all other elements that make up a classic Bollywood masala movie. Alongside him is Telugu star Venkatesh, with supporting roles filled out by Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Bhagyashree and others; though they do not appear in this first look.

In a country that emerged on the back of Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of non-violence, it has surely come a long way to normalise it. Especially with Salman Khan’s films, the display of machismo is almost shocking in 2023. A masala film trope has ensured that no questions are raised about the notion of action in movies.

A major part of what is required from an action movie today is to illustrate a significant transformation for the character. If we look at Salman's recent films, none demonstrate such growth--which leaves people with the idea that a violent reaction to pain and denial is normal. We need to reconsider the way actors are being instructed to portray these kinds of characters in films.
