The action-packed selfie trailer stars Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi
Selfiee, an official Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film Driving Licence, is directed by Raj Mehta (famous for JugJugg Jeeyo and Good Newwz). Magic Frames and Cape of Good Films have come together with Dharma Productions and Prithviraj Productions to produce this drama-comedy. The original movie starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu to much acclaim and success, so fans are eager to see how Emraan Hashmi and Akshay Kumar bring their chemistry to the screen here (working together for the first time). Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty will also be making an appearance in Selfiee.
A trailer for Selfiee was released on January 22, by the film's makers. It tells the story of a superfan and a star. As a “superstar,” Akshay Kumar appears in the video, while Emraan Hashmi plays Akshay’s biggest fan as well as a police officer. Emraan also warns his wife of divorce if she speaks negatively about Akshay. Furthermore, he and his son want to take a selfie with their “hero.”
The relationship turns sour when Akshay and Emraan Hashmi clash over Akshay's driving license. While Emraan claims he will have to obtain the license like a "common man," Akshay asserts he will do so regardless. As Akshay and Emraan dance at a disco in shimmering clothing, the song Main Khiladi Tu Anari is playing.
As two celebrities clash and prove what defines entertainment, the trailer promises both action and comedy. There is a possibility that it could be the best movie of 2023. A remix of Main Khiladi Tu Anadi will also evoke memories of the past while introducing an exciting new song. Nushrrat is Emraan's wife, while Diana is Akshay Kumar's love interest. In addition to Mrunal Thakur, Akshay and Emraan stand out in the clip.
Talking about acting, Akshay Kumar is always good at action scenes. However, Emraan Hashmi deserves special attention because watching him portray such a role is so energizing.
While the trailer doesn't give the ladies much to do, the two Bollywood stars promise a wild comic journey based on the trailer. Additionally, Selfiee's trailer is pretty attractive and succeeds in capturing viewers' attention.
On the work front, Emraan's last release was the horror movie Dybbuk. Additionally, he will appear in Tiger 3 with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 24, 2023. He will also star in the Hindi version of the Tamil film “Soorarai Potturu” as well as the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
